January is almost over!

Hello! Happy last-day-of-January. I hope this month was as good for you as it has been for us! This month has been extremely busy. Paul has spent most of his time at work, like usual. He has been on the Wards again, and that consumes about 80 hours of his week. We started out the month by taking down the Christmas stuff. That is always sad because the house looks naked. But it's ok, because Davan and I went out and bought Valentine's decorations!! Now our house is covered with Pinks and Reds. It is very festive! This month Davan learned that he has feet, and he spends a lot of time taking off his socks and snuggling with them. It is really adorable!!! I have been extremely busy working on a Charity Auction with the Navy spouses. Every year we raise money to buy necessities for the hospital, things like blankets for the pediatric wards, fridges for the doctors, televisions for the oncology wards, and so on and so fourth. We have been hard at work doing everything that needs to be done for the auction! Davan is in a play group as well. We have a playdate about once a month with all of the other children in the group. There are 4 other babies that were born in July, and it is a lot of fun to see them all together, and see all the progress they have made!! As everyone has probably already heard, I fell down the stairs this month and broke my tail bone. It was really unfortunate, and it hurts really bad!!! It seems to be getting better though. Which is good, because I go to the gym about 6 days a week, and they have a rock wall that I have been dying to try out!!! It would be so much fun to scale to the top of that!! I wish I had climbing shoes, but they run from $50-100, and I don't know how we could work those into the budget! Davan went and got pictures done this month (I will attach some of the pictures) He went once by himself, and once with 3 of the other July babies. That didn't work out too well, because when one baby started crying, so did all of the others! It was hillarious, adorable, and really sad, all at the same time!!! I don't have those pictures scanned yet, but when I do I will send them along as well. While I am at the gym, Davan gets to go hang out in the children's waiting area. It is really neat! He is a little bit too young to enjoy it right now, but when he starts to walk, they have one of those jungle gyms (like they would have at mcdonalds or burger king) and I know Davan would just have the greatest time in it!! This month I met my neighbor for the first time. It is the only one I have met since we moved here! She is nic, her name is Jamie. Her husband is in the Navy, and works on a ship out of Norfolk. She has a 2 year old daughter and a 9 week old son. It is nice to have someone I know close by! I joined a tots group with Jamie, and they had a mom's night out a few weeks back! It was really fun, we played Curses (a card game) and Cranium (a board game). This week we got snow! Lots of snow!! Well not compared to Utah or anything, but we got at least a foot, and it was awesome!! Davan played out in the snow and had a wonderful time!!

My first blog!!

Horray for blogs! I thought it would be time to start up so that we can connect with family and friends, and let everyone know how we are doing! We are so far away from everyone since we are here in Virginia. Paul has been at work since last night, so Davan and I have been hanging out here at home. For Christmas we got Davan a walker with wheels on the bottom. He has figured out that if he scootches to his right side and streaches out his right leg he can reach the floor. He now scoots himself around, and I litterally mean around. Since only one foot can reach the floor, he can only go backwards in a circle. It is really sad and funny, all at the same time!
I have been spending a lot of time at the gym, so Davan goes to the childrens play area while I work out. He loves having all of the new toys and equipment such as the swings and the rockers. Whenever I come back in, the staff is always so kind and playing with Davan. He loves it there, and I love watching him smile! I hope he is always this friendly with strangers!! Paul will be back later today, and we are excited to be able to spend time with him =)
For now, welcome to my blog, feel free to look around and leave us a message!
